Report: Tottenham scout international tournament; two-goal Willem Geubbels attracting significant interest

Tottenham Hotspur are said to have been keeping a close eye on the tournament for teenage talents.

According to a report from French website butfootballclub, Tottenham Hotspur were among the clubs scouting at the Val-de-Marne tournament last week with one player in particular said to have caught the eye of those in attendance.

Willem Geubbels is a 15-year-old French striker who is currently on the books at Lyon’s academy, and his two goals against Russia are said to have only increased the interest in a player who is allegedly a target for half the clubs in the Premier League.

Other players on show who are said to be interesting English sides were Abdoulaye Diallo of Nantes and Adil Taoui of Toulouse.

Tottenham are famous for bringing young players through their own academy while they have also signed some of the best young talent in the country in recent years in the form of Dele Alli and Eric Dier.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will not want to stop there and he will know the importance of signing the strikers of the future.

While Geubbels is very young, he appears to be the real deal, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham make their move ahead of other suitors after his latest fine showing.
