Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to reopen contract talks with Christian Eriksen after halting discussions in the summer.

Eriksen’s current contract expires at the end of next season and Spurs had apparently attempted to get the attacking midfielder to put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.
However, talks came to nothing with The Sun reporting that Eriksen wanted his salary to go from £70,000-a-week to £160,000-a-week. It is not clear whether Tottenham will now meet those demands, but they are looking to get back round the table imminently.
It would be a huge boost for Mauricio Pochettino if the new talks are wrapped up quickly. Eriksen has been a key player for Spurs for a number of years and is now at an age where he may be heading into his peak.

With a number of contract situations that will need addressing over the next year or two, getting Eriksen’s situation resolved would be a great move.
It could be the kind of statement that has an impact on some of his teammates who also boast uncertain futures, while potential targets would inevitably be more excited about the prospect of a possible move if Eriksen remains at the club.
