Tottenham reportedly make contact over Cenk Tosun.

Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with the father of striker Cenk Tosun over a potential deal, according to Turkish outlet Haberturk.

Tosun has been scoring at a prolific rate for Besiktas, netting eight goals in 13 matches this season – and this only places further pressure on Fernando Llorente to perform.

Tottenham along with Everton, whose interest was also reported in the piece have reportedly contacted Tosun’s father to sound him out over a potential switch.

Spurs were directed to make an offer to Besiktas, with Tosun’s dad confirming his son’s preference if he moves abroad would be switching to England.

Harry Kane is Tottenham’s first choice striker, and Fernando Llorente was bought this summer but is still looking for his first goal for the club.

Making contact over Tosun shows Spurs are exploring their options, and that Llorente is under pressure to start delivering in his debut season for the club.

Besiktas are in the Champions League and Tosun would be ineligible to play for Tottenham in the competition if he switched mid-season.

Tosun is familiar to Spurs after scoring a winning goal against Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the Europa League back in 2014.

Last season he netted 24 goals in all competitions for Besiktas. Newcastle United are also keen, with CNN Turkey reporting that they are plotting a club record move.
