Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to seal Jan Vertonghen’s future.

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are prioritising a new contract for defender Jan Vertonghen before the start of next season.
A 2012 signing from Ajax, Vertonghen has now racked up almost 250 appearances for Spurs, becoming one of the most trusted players at Tottenham.
The defender turns 31 on Tuesday, and with doubts over the futures of his Belgian international teammates Toby Alderweireld and Mousa Dembele, some are concerned about Vertonghen’s future.
With his contract set to expire next summer, Vertonghen’s future is somewhat up in the air – and Football.London report that a new deal for the centre back is a top priority this summer.

It’s claimed that manager Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Vertonghen, and sees him as a key part of the Tottenham side after nearly six years with the club.
The report notes that Pochettino has been impressed with how Vertonghen has helped youngster Davinson Sanchez settle in the Spurs defence, and the hope is that he can help Juan Foyth develop too.
Having been named in the PFA Team of the Year on Wednesday, Vertonghen’s performances have been recognised – and Spurs look set to hand him a new contract as a result.
