Reports emanating from Spain claim that Spurs are eyeing a summer swoop for Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro, according to Spanish media outlet AS, and are lining up a €30 million (£25.7 million) offer for the Frenchman.
The 30-year-old only moved to Atleti last summer from Sevilla, for a fee believed to be in the region of £28 million, but has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot, scoring 16 goals in 46 games for Diego Simeone’s men.

With Antoine Griezmann’s future with the La Liga side far from certain, it would seem strange that Simeone would allow another striker to leave, but AS believe that Tottenham’s expected offer of nearly £26 million could tempt them into selling the former PSG man.
At this stage in the France international’s career, he will surely expect to be a regular first-team starter wherever he plays – something that will certainly not be the case at Spurs, unless Mauricio Pochettino opts to play two up front.
Atletico Madrid’s Kevin Gameiro looks dejected
With Vincent Janssen’s struggles, it is not surprise to see Tottenham being linked with another striker, but whether the 30-year-old Gameiro fits the profile of a typical Pochettino signing is questionable.
With the opening of the transfer window just around the corner, however, this will most certainly be one to keep a close eye on.
