Tottenham Hotspur will be willing to offer Arkadiusz Milik a four-year contract in January, if he becomes a free agent, Gazette dello Sport claim.
Tottenham have been chasing the Napoli forward for much of the summer so far, as they look to sign a striker to add to Jose Mourinho’s ranks.
However, they have been unable to get a deal over the line, and Tottenham now seem to be looking to the new year to complete a deal for Milik.
The Polish forward has just one year left on his deal, so Spurs now hope that they will be able to approach him to sign him on a free in just three months’ time.
At that point Tottenham are reportedly willing to hand Milik a four-year deal, but they may not get a chance to do that unless they act soon.
Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Milik is now on the verge of a £23 million move to Roma, in what could be a major transfer blow to Tottenham.
Mourinho stressed again his side’s need for a new number nine to help provide support to Harry Kane after Tottenham drew a blank against Everton.
But unless they make a late swoop now, Tottenham’s chances of landing Milik now appear slim.
