According to a report from Tutto Mercato Web, Sassuolo winger Matteo Politano is being tracked by Tottenham, as well as a whole host of other top European clubs.

The Italian ace has been in fine form for his club this season, chalking up 10 goals and five assists in 37 appearances in all competitions thus far.

Politano joined Sassuolo from Pescara on a permanent basis in the summer of 2016, having spent the previous season on loan with the Serie A outfit.

The 24-year-old can play anywhere along the front-line, although his natural position is right wing, from where he can cut inside onto his deadly left foot.

Tutto Mercato Web claim that Tottenham are keeping tabs on his progress, although they will face competition from the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan and Napoli for his signature.

Politano would be a useful addition to the Spurs squad, if they win the race to obtain his services in the summer.

He is valued at £13.1 million, according to Transfer Market, and that would represent excellent value in today’s day and age.
