According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a January raid to sign Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj.
Spurs made a deadline day swoop to sign a midfielder in Moussa Sissoko, but the former Newcastle United ace has so far been used on the right hand side of midfield – meaning manager Mauricio Pochettino may yet want another option in midfield.

With Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama already at the club, Spurs have great competition in the middle of the park, whilst both Sissoko and Dele Alli could also play there.
Regardless, The Mirror report that Pochettino is eyeing up a January move for Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj, who had been linked with a move to White Hart Lane during the summer transfer window.

Badelj, 27, came up through the ranks with Dinamo Zagreb in this native Croatia, and his performances earned him a 2012 move to Germany with Hamburg.
Currently playing for Fiorentina following a 2014 switch, Badelj has played more than 30 games in each of his two full seasons with the Serie A club, and he now seems to be firmly on Pochettino’s radar.

It’s stated that Badelj is rated in the £7m price range, and would add another option in the middle of the park for Pochettino should a January move go through.
An international team-mate of former Spurs star Vedran Corluka, Badelj played as the midfield partner of Luka Modric – an ex-Tottenham hero – during Euro 2016, and Real Madrid ace Modric would surely recommend a move to White Hart Lane having impressed so much during his time with the club.
