According to Calciomercato, Érik Lamela is so keen to leave Tottenham that he’s willing to earn a significantly lower salary.
The Italian news outlet claim that the 25-cap Argentina international wants to join Napoli, but they have no intention of matching his £80,000-a-week wages.
As a result, Lamela is prepared to take a 50% pay cut in order to ensure the move goes through – that would see him lose £40,000-a-week.
The 29-year-old must be absolutely desperate to leave north London!
It doesn’t come as much of a surprise, in all honesty.
Lamela has struggled under José Mourinho this season, making just five Premier League starts and scoring one goal in England’s top-flight.

The £25.7 million man is by no means one of the first names on Mourinho’s teamsheet, so it’s no wonder he wants out of Spurs.
In our view, Tottenham should let him go this summer.
Lamela’s contract expires in June 2022, and seeing as he wants to leave, he’s highly unlikely to sign a new deal.

In that respect, Daniel Levy must cash in this summer, or he risks losing the South American for nothing in 2022.
Spurs are extremely unlikely to receive anything close to the £25.7 million they spent on Lamela.
However, any fee is better than no fee – we’re sure that Levy would agree.
