Valencia have reportedly identified Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks as a potential alternative to Arthur Melo, who has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

Valencia eye Harry Winks if they cannot sign Arthur Melo

AS have reported that Valencia want to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo from Juventus in the summer transfer window.

However, Valencia’s financial situation means that the La Liga club may not be able to bring in the Brazilian.

So, according to the report, Los Che are looking at alternatives, and one of the players they have identified is Winks.

Winks is being pursued by Sampdoria, but the English midfielder is open to a move to Valencia, according to AS, who have added that his wages would work out fine for the La Liga club.

According to MundoDeportivo in July, Arsenal are the strongest option for Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo.

Door opens for Arsenal

If Valencia sign Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur, then it will open the door for Arsenal to bring in Arthur Melo.

Arsenal are a rich club who would be able to afford the Brazilian star’s wages.

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte does not fancy Winks, so it would work out well for the North London club if they are able to offload the Englishman to Valencia in the summer transfer window.
