Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks is closing in on a move to Leicester City, which could cost around £10million.

Harry Winks is on the verge of leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Leicester City as James Maddison makes the opposite move.

The London Evening Standard report that Winks is ‘closing in’ on joining Leicester in a permanent deal.

Winks was on loan at Sampdoria in Italy last season but is now set to leave Tottenham for good.

The 27-year-old suffered relegation with Samp and will be looking for better fortunes with Leicester.

Football London’s Alasdair Gold reports that the fee involved for Winks is £10million, with a deal seemingly close.

Winks has risen up through the Tottenham ranks and became a first-team player under Mauricio Pochettino.

Winks bagged 200 appearances as a Tottenham player but clearly isn’t in the plans under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

Playing regularly in the Championship would be ideal for Winks and he should play a vital role under Enzo Maresca.

James Maddison set to move in opposite direction to Harry Winks

Winks will be heading to Leicester just as Tottenham pounce to sign a new midfielder from the Foxes themselves.

The Standard claim that Leicester star James Maddison is set to undergo a medical with Tottenham.

A £40million deal has been struck, with Maddison on the verge of completing his move to North London.

£40million sounded decent enough for Maddison anyway, but when you factor in that Tottenham are selling Winks to Leicester for £10million, it gets even better.

This seems like a perfect pair of deals for all sides, with Maddison able to get back to playing Premier League football ahead of Euro 2024.

Winks can go and play a key role moving forward and neither side will feel the valuations are excessive with both deals set to go through imminently.
