MailPlus report that Tottenham are planning to offer both Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg new deals to tie down their future at the North London club – with both establishing themselves as absolutely crucial under Antonio Conte.

Since Conte’s arrival at Tottenham, the Italian has improved Spurs greatly. A huge part of that is the spine of his Spurs side. Hugo Lloris, Dier, Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane are all key.

Lloris is contracted until 2024 at 35, while Romero and Bentancur have just signed. The futures of Son and Kane are slightly more cloudy, with Sport1 reporting this week that Son is considering a move. Real Madrid are said to be keen.

Kane has a contract, like Lloris, until 2024. His future will be based on whether Spurs can continue to fight for trophies – and the future of Conte. Dier and Hojbjerg, meanwhile, are the other two players left in the spine of the Spurs side.

With Lloris unlikely to get a new deal, Bentancur and Romero’s futures sorted, and Kane and Son a long-term issue – Spurs want to sort out Dier and Hojbjerg. The report claims they are in the process of preparing offers for both.

MailPlus reporter Sami Mobkel says, on Dier and Hojbjerg’s contract situations: “Sportsmail can also reveal Spurs are in the midst of preparing contract talks for two of Conte’s key lieutenants Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.”

Tottenham planning to offer Dier and Hojbjerg new deals

Again, like Kane and Lloris, Dier sees his contract at Spurs end in just over 18 months. He has been in wonderful form since the arrival of Conte. Indeed, he has won his England place back and is likely to be on the plane to Qatar.

Still only 28, Dier is a mainstay at Spurs and has clocked up a huge 335 appearances for Tottenham. Handing him a new deal is key. Hojbjerg, meanwhile, is less urgent. He has a deal until 2025. But getting him tied down is also key.

That is because The Telegraph claim Madrid want to sign Hojbjerg. So, it makes utter sense for Tottenham to sort out deals for both players. Hopefully, Spurs fans will have Dier, Hojbjerg, Kane and Son all penning new deals, soon.
