Report: Tottenham planning to ask about Max Aarons – on one condition

Tottenham Hotspur still have their eyes on Max Aarons.

According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur will make a move for Norwich City full back Max Aarons this summer – but only if Kieran Trippier moves on.

Aarons, 19, has come up through the ranks at Norwich, and played a key part in their Championship title-winning campaign this past season, impressing with his attacking play.

The teenager has been backed for a huge future, and with Premier League football next season, we may well see him push for England action – even with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the mix.

Many now expect Aarons to stay at Norwich after their promotion, but Tottenham may well challenge that stance as they consider their options at right back.

Aarons ticks the boxes for Spurs as a young, homegrown talent with real pace and potential, and is an English player leaves in Trippier, an English replacement would be ideal.

Trippier is attracting interest from a number of clubs despite a disappointing season, and Spurs may well see this as an opportunity to offload a played approaching 30 for a younger alternative.

Serge Aurier may be more difficult to sell, meaning Spurs are planning more for the exit of Trippier, and Aarons’ attacking play for Norwich makes him a natural target.

Whether they can tempt Norwich into selling or Aarons into moving is another matter though, as it feels a little like Ryan Sessegnon last summer, as promotion with his current club make a move unlikely.
