Italian outlet TuttoJuve claim that Tottenham are delighted with the early form of Dejan Kulusevski – and want to make his loan permanent this summer. Talks have been scheduled with Juventus at the end of the season.
Kulusevski, 21, joined Spurs on an 18-month loan with both an obligation to buy if criteria is met – or a permanent option. Spurs have paid £8.3million to get him on loan, £2.5million for this season and £5.8million next season.
They have an obligation of £29.2m if he achieves 15 starts, or Champions League qualification is achieved (Football London). He has started eight of his 11 outings, needing seven more with Spurs having nine games left.
So, he could sign without the need for discussion this summer, due to a pre-organised clause. But Tottenham are keen to do the deal no matter what and talks have been planned to sign him permanently this summer.
Tottenham eye Kulusevski deal: An absolute no-brainer for Spurs
Kulusevski has been brilliant. Antonio Conte was initially disappointed to lose four players – Dele Alli, Gio Lo Celso, Bryan Gil and Tanguy Ndombele – and only replace the quartet with Rodrigo Bentancur and Kulusevski.
But the duo that have come in have been superb. Both are already first choice – with Kulusevski scoring two goals and laying on four assists in his 11 games. For less than £30million, Spurs have got to get a deal done.
Conte is certainly a fan, recently being quoted by Football London as saying that he admires the winger’s “desire”.
