According to AS, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to ‘fight tooth and nail’ to sign Watford left back Pervis Estupinan – but face major competition to sign him.
It’s stated that ‘several greats’ from European football are hoping to land Estupinan. Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Tottenham are seemingly fighting at the front of the queue.
The four clubs allegedly plan to fight ‘tooth and nail’ to sign Estupinan, but just when he will actually be available on the market is another matter.
Estupinan is currently on loan at Osasuna from Watford. However, he signed a two-year loan deal, meaning he will only return to Watford at the end of next season.
Signing him this summer may therefore become somewhat complicated. Watford, Osasuna and Estupinan would essentially all have to agree to end the loan, unless Watford have the option to cut the loan short.
Estupinan, 22, has impressed as an attack-minded left back this season. With one goal and five assists in all competitions, the Ecuadorian talent has really impressed in Spain.

Estupinan joined Watford from LDU Quito in 2016, but has still yet to make his debut for the Hornets. His move to Osasuna came after prior loan spells with Granada, Almeria and Mallorca.
He is quick and a dangerous crosser of the ball, but also strong and capable defensively. Estupinan looks to have a bright future, and Spurs certainly need another left back to challenge Ben Davies.
Signing him this summer may be a little difficult due to the terms of his loan move and the global pandemic, but he certainly appears to be a name to keep an eye on.
