According to Inter Live, Tottenham are planning to sign Lautaro Martinez – who snubbed Arsenal – from Inter Milan in an attempt to keep Antonio Conte.

Tottenham think Martinez will aid Conte hopes

Well, the Italian’s contract at Spurs expires in July, and it seems Daniel Levy is willing to pull out all the stops in a bid to keep the 53-year-old in north London.

Inter Live believe Tottenham are willing to spend heavily on a move to sign Martinez from Inter Milan, which they feel will go some way to getting Conte to pen fresh terms in N17.

The Argentine international – who Calciomercato believe is valued at €100m (£87m) – was actually the subject of a €90m (£78m) offer from Tottenham in the summer of 2021, according to Inter Live.

However, those at the San Siro decided against the sale – despite being tempted – as they had already sold Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku in the same window.

Now, the north Londoners are planning another bid for Martinez, who would immediately become a fan favourite at Tottenham seeing as he rejected a move to Arsenal – that was according to The Times.

So far this season, the South American has been in good form, scoring five goals while also providing two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Martinez would thrive under Conte at Tottenham

In our view, a move for Martinez could fire Spurs to silverware – the Inter Milan No.10 has already done just that under Conte in Italy.

The 25-year-old scored 17 goals and also provided ten assists in 38 league appearances under Conte, as Inter Milan won the Serie A title in 2021.

Martinez was utterly prolific under the Italian’s guidance.

In total, he scored 40 goals in 97 appearances while working with the 53-year-old, and also recorded 19 assists.

It would undoubtedly be an expensive move for Levy, but if it convinces Conte to stay at Tottenham, then it would surely be worth doing.
