Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still very much in the running for the Malaga forward.

According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Tottenham Hotspur owner Joe Lewis travelled to Spain last week in an attempt to negotiate a deal for Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez.

Spurs have long been linked with the young Spaniard, as explained in the report, with the North London club allegedly wanting him while he was still at Barcelona.

Instead he moved to Malaga, where he has hit the ground running, scoring 16 goals in 30 matches, and with a release clause of just over £5million he is sure to have plenty of suitors after such a fine campaign.

It is not often that Tottenham’s billionaire owner is mentioned in transfer reports, and if Lewis did indeed open negotiations over a possible deal it is clear Spurs are very keen on the Spaniard.

He certainly fits the bill of a young, supremely talented signing whose value is only likely to increase in the years ahead.

Considering the knock-down price it would take to get him, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would be laughing all the way to the bank if Lewis helped secure a deal.

Only time will tell, with Atletico Madrid and Everton also said to be monitoring the player’s situation very closely. But whatever happens, the latest reports from Spain make for very interesting reading.
