Janssen was left out of Spurs’ 25-man squad after suffering a long-term foot injury while at Fenerbahce.

Sky Sports claim Vincent Janssen could finally return from a long-term foot injury to feature for Tottenham Hotspur’s second string against Liverpool in Premier League 2 on Monday.
Janssen, 24, suffered the injury while on loan with Turkish side Fenerbahce last season, where he scored five goals and created four more in 18 league and cup appearances.
But the injury prevent him from gaining any kind of momentum, and he finally underwent surgery on the problem in the summer – which has since ruled him out of action, until now.
The Netherlands international was omitted from Spurs’ 25-man Premier League squad due to the injury, but under registration rules, changes can be made to that list in January to include new signings.
That gives Janssen the chance to show he is worthy of regaining a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad now he is fully fit, and will look to do just that when Spurs take on Liverpool in Premier League 2 on Monday.

Janssen is on the transfer list at Tottenham after failing to show he is worthy of acting as back-up to Harry Kane. He scored just six goals in 39 Spurs appearances during 2016-17, before joining Fener for 2017-18.
But if Janssen can show Spurs he still has the goalscoring touch that saw him score 32 times in 49 games for AZ Alkmaar before joining the north London club, Pochettino may well give him another chance.
