According to reports from French newspaper L’Equipe (printed edition; 18/01/2018 – page 3) Tottenham have initiated talks with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Brazilian winger Lucas Moura.

Spurs signed Serge Aurier from PSG in the summer transfer window, and according to L’Equipe the link between the two clubs will only strengthen should Moura join the north London club this month.

Lucas Moura #7 of Paris Saint-Germain is tripped up by Moustapha Seck #27 of AS Roma during the second half at Comerica Park on July 19, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan.

The report claims that the 25-year-old is also a reported target of Manchester United, but he is attracting strong interest from Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino wants to bolster his attacking unit, and has identified Lucas as a perfect fit for the role.

The report adds that in the past few hours, Spurs have moved quickly and initiated talks of a potential transfer deal.

The transfer now hinges on Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman, and the French publication believes that it won’t be easy. Spurs prefer a loan move for the Brazilian, but the Parisiens are keen to offload him altogether.

Moura, who has 36 international cap under his belt, has struggled to get regular games at PSG this season, and he knows that he needs to move away from Parc des Princes.

A move to Spurs would be a tempting option for him, and now it remains to be seen whether the north London club can agree to a deal in January.
