According to a report from Yahoo Sports, Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks regarding the possible transfer of Dani Alves.

The Brazilian international is currently on the books at Juventus, where he is preparing for a Champions League final against Real Madrid. But according to the latest report, Tottenham are keen to re-balance their squad, adding more experience after blooding a number of exciting youngsters.

Yahoo Sports claims Tottenham have put forward a two-year contract proposal with an option for a third season.

The right-back only arrived in Turin last summer but he has hit the ground running, featuring 30 times for Juventus, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in the process.

He was integral in the club’s Champions League semi-final victory against AS Monaco, scoring one goal and setting up two more over the two legs, but he has recently struggled for game time in Serie A.

Now 34, the prospect of continuing his career until he is 36 or 37 would certainly be appealing.

That said, it would be quite a change of direction from Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy who, more often than not, has targeted talented young players with significant sell-on value.
