Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez will replace Erik Lamela at Tottenahm Hotspur, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘one step away’ from signing Newcastle United’s Ayoze Perez, according to reports in Italy.
CalcioNapoli24 claimed on Monday that Tottenham are close to signing the 25-year-old, who has been linked to Napoli too.
The report adds that Spurs will be signing him as a replacement for Erik Lamela, who has three years to go on his contract in North London.
Perez had a superb end to the season with Newcastle, netting eight goals in his last nine Premier League games for the Magpies – including a hat-trick against Southampton.
According to CalcioNapoli24, Tottenham have offered around £24.7 million, and manager Mauricio Pochettino tried to sign him back in 2016.
Lamela has struggled for first-team football this season, starting only 14 games across all competitions under Pochettino.
The Argentine manager has been a big fan of Lamela’s since taking the reins at Spurs in 2014, but he is a squad player at best these days and if Pochettino deems Perez – who doesn’t strictly play in the same position – as an upgrade then his decision should be trusted.
