According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur have been offered Leicester City striker Islam Slimani – and Napoli’s Fernando Llorente may yet return.

It’s stated that Spurs are seeking a backup striker this summer, with Harry Kane – who is set to stay put – needing some support.

The report claims that Slimani has been offered to Tottenham, which we’re guessing was through an agent rather by Leicester themselves.

Slimani, 32, spent the season on loan at Monaco, and bagged a hugely impressive nine goals and seven assists in just 18 Ligue 1 games, giving him 16 goal contributions.

A powerful target man with great aerial presence, Slimani hasn’t had much Premier League success, but may offer an option off the bench for Jose Mourinho.

Spurs now have to consider whether to go for the Algerian, but it’s claimed that Llorente is another option for Tottenham too.

Llorente was released by Spurs at the end of his contract last summer, and chose to make the move to Italy.

The 35-year-old started just three Serie A games for Napoli, though he did make 14 substitute appearances on his way to three goals and one assist.

Llorente managed just 13 goals in 66 games for Spurs in two seasons at the club, but with Mourinho seeking a new striker, he could end up back in North London.

The two option aren’t exactly exciting, but would bring experience to Mourinho’s side and an aerial threat, with younger players maybe worried about a lack of playing time behind Kane.
