Tottenham Hotspur have been approached about a potential summer deal for Udinese centre forward Beto.

The agents of Udinese agent Beto are trying to secure a big move this summer with Tottenham one club to be approached.

That is according to a report from Spanish website Defensa Central, who focus mostly on Real Madrid news.

They claim that Beto’s agents have been very busy contacting some of Europe’s biggest sides in search of a move.

Bayern Munich, Napoli and Tottenham are all understood to have been approached about signing Beto – just like Real Madrid.

However, none of the clubs approached have seemed all the interested in signing Beto – mostly because of Udinese’s stance.

Udinese don’t want to sell Beto and are seeking a fee of around €30million (£26million), which no club is willing to pay as things stand.

Claims in Italy suggest that it may be a little more expensive with €35million (£30million) mentioned as Beto’s release clause.

Whether that situation changes remains to be seen, but it currently doesn’t look like Beto will be heading for Tottenham.

Beto profiled as agents approach Tottenham

Beto was born in Lisbon and spent many of his formative years with Uniao Tires, except for brief spells with Benfica and Oeiras.

Beto then scored just four goals in 25 league games for Uniao Tires, but landed himself a move to Portuguese fourth-tier side Olimpico Montijo.

That’s where Beto started showing potential, smashing 21 goals in 34 league games to land himself a big move to top-flight Portimonense.

13 goals in 47 games there wasn’t exceptional but Udinese saw promise and lured him to Italy in 2021.

Now with 21 goals in 61 Serie A games, Beto continues to rise and was in Portugal’s preliminary squad for the 2022 World Cup.

The 25-year-old is a giant presence at 6ft 4in tall and has shown impressive power and hold-up play in Serie A.

Beto isn’t a prolific goalscorer but he is a real nuisance and could give Tottenham something they don’t really have right now.

Ange Postecoglou is a fan of having a physical target man figure in attack having utilised Giorgos Giakoumakis and then Oh Hyeon-gyu at Celtic.

Both fit that classic centre forward mould and Beto is even bigger than those two forwards amid comparisons to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, according to ex-Udinese forward Antonio Floro Flores.

Maybe this is one Tottenham could revisit if the price comes down later this summer, with Beto’s agents seemingly keen on the move.
