According to reports from both The Mirror and The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey on loan.
It’s claimed that Juve already want to offload Ramsey, just a year since signing him. They need to cut their wage bill in light of the global pandemic, and Ramsey could be vulnerable.
Juventus have allegedly told a number of clubs that they’re willing to let Ramsey go. However, his £400,000-a-week wages will be a huge stumbling block.
Tottenham are believed to have been offered the chance to sign Ramsey. The Sun note that it would be a loan deal rather than a permanent move.
Ramsey, 29, would be something of a controversial addition for Tottenham. The Welshman spent 11 years as an Arsenal player, spending most of his career as a rival to Spurs.
The midfielder racked up 65 goals and 65 assists in 371 outings for Arsenal, before leaving for free last summer. His time in Italy hasn’t really gone to plan, notching just four goals and one assist in 24 games.

A return to North London may be appealing, but it’s hard to see Ramsey turning out in the famous white shirt of Spurs having endured such an emotional goodbye at the Emirates Stadium.
Ramsey even told the Daily Mail in 2018 that he would ‘never’ play for Tottenham, so that stance could be tested.
Similarly, Tottenham don’t really have the funds to support a deal. Even half of Ramsey’s wages would be a major drain on the Tottenham finances, so we’re ruling out such a move for now – even if Juve want rid.
