Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign former Arsenal favourite Aaron Ramsey in a swap deal which would have seen Tanguy Ndombele leave for Juventus, according to The Telegraph.
From the outside looking in, Spurs’ £63 million record signing apepars to have become Mourinho’s ‘new Pogba’ in north London – and for all the wrong reasons.
While the under-fire Spurs boss famously fell out with a World Cup winner during the drawn-out final days of his Manchester United tenure, it hasn’t taken Ndombele long at all to get on the wrong side of Mourinho since his return to the dugout.
The foremr Lyon ace has never been famed for his relentless work ethic or his defensive discipline.
With that in mind, it always felt inevitable that a enigmatic if inconsistent player would fall foul of football’s arch-pragmatist, playing just 19 minutes of football since Project Re-start got underway three matchdays ago.
But despite all the signs suggesting otherwise, the Telegraph reports that Mourinho still has a place in his plans for Ndombele.

That means that the chance to sign Ramsey, Juventus’ £400,000-a-week Welsh international, has been ignored for now.
The ex-Arsenal dynamo is a proven talent at the top level of English football and looks pretty much tailor-made for a Spurs side lacking inspiration or attacking thrust from midfield in the post-Christian Eriksen era.
But, it seems, no one is willing to give up on Ndombele just yet.
Speaking to Goal this week, Mourinho explained that the Frenchman has the natural talent to make a success of his time at Spurs, comparing his ongoing struggles with Luka Modric’s sluggish adaptation at Real Madrid.
