Reports emanating from Germany today suggest that Spurs have offered a deal worth up to €6 million (£5.1 million) per year to Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac, in a bid to convince him to join the club in the summer upon the expiration of his contract with the Bundesliga side, according to German media outlet Sport Bild.
The utility man has become one of Europe’s most highly sought-after players, after impressing for Schalke this season, and Tottenham have reportedly undertaken several scouting missions in a bid to assess the 23-year-old at close quarters.
And Sport Bild are reporting that the Lilywhites have already offered Kolasinac a tempting personal package, whilst stating Schalke’s desire to keep hold of the player.
The German outfit are reportedly wiling to offer their man €4.5 million per year to stay with the club, just three quarters of the reported amount that the north London club are willing to pay.
Kolasinac is a highly versatile player, and is proficient at playing in a variety of different roles, including wing-back, which could prove to be a major asset for Spurs, considering the way in which Mauricio Pochettino sets his team up to play.
And if Tottenham do manage to bring the Bosnia and Herzegovina international star to the club in the summer, it really would be quite the coup.
