According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur will listen to offers for Erik Lamela this summer despite him being a popular player.
It’s claimed that Lamela is popular among the rest of the Tottenham squad, whislt Jose Mourinho admitted in February that he ‘loves’ Lamela.
However, there are two reasons why Tottenham want to sell; firstly being that he has an injury history that Mourinho described as ‘incredibly negative’.
Secondly, Lamela’s contract expires in 2022, and Spurs seemingly want to sell rather than give him a new deal or lose him for nothing.
Teams in Italy are thought to be keen on Lamela given that he impressed there with Roma, and the potential to become a starter there – rather than a squad player at Spurs – is appealing.
The 29-year-old has remarkably spent almost eight years with Tottenham, despite never really living up to his billing at any time.

Lamela has now played more than 250 games for Spurs, bagging 37 goals – including two rabonas – and 47 assists, and few could have predicted that after his disappointing first season with the club.
Still, his time with Spurs could be coming to an end, and a fresh start may be best for everybody as Tottenham consider big changes this summer.
