Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Andre Onana – and are showing a stronger interest than Chelsea in the Inter Milan star.

That is according to London World reporter Rahman Osman, who reports that Tottenham and Chelsea are both keen.

It’s suggested that Tottenham are showing more interest than Chelsea right now though.

That’s because there are doubts over whether Hugo Lloris will play for Tottenham again.

Spurs need to find a new number one stopper and Onana is emerging as a genuine option.

The Cameroonian only joined Inter last summer, leaving Ajax on a free transfer at the end of his contract.

Inter swooped in but may now cash in on the 27-year-old in search of a swift profit to help balance the books.

90Min even reported in April that Onana is essentially on the transfer list as Inter seek to raise funds.

That report added that Tottenham told Inter they would take Onana this summer in an attempt to solve their goalkeeping issue.

It’s unclear just who would be conveying that message though given that Spurs have no manager and no director of football right now.

Onana could be a name on the Tottenham list but a deal surely isn’t advanced at this stage.

Mauricio Pochettino allegedly has doubts over Amadou Onana

This sounds like it could be a battle between Tottenham and their former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino looks set to become the new Chelsea manager and he will be expecting some new signings.

Yet whilst Onana is being linked with Chelsea, Pochettino allegedly has some doubts about him.

The Daily Mail claim that Onana isn’t the preferred goalkeeper for Pochettino and he wants to sign somebody else instead.

It’s unclear who Pochettino’s top choice is, but Onana would seemingly be a backup target for the Chelsea-bound manager.

That may be why Chelsea aren’t pushing for Onana quite as hard as Tottenham, potentially making Spurs a more likely destination this summer.
