Tottenham Hotspur are trying to negotiate a deal for Barcelona defender Emerson Royal ahead of Tuesday’s summer transfer deadline.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Tottenham are now trying to rush through a late deal for the Brazilian ace.
It’s claimed that Tottenham want two signings before the transfer deadline, with a right back and an attacker on the radar for Fabio Paratici.
The top right back target now appears to be Emerson, with Tottenham looking to benefit from Barcelona’s financial problems.
Tottenham are also in talks to sign Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba as Paratici plots a bold double swoop on the Catalan giants.
Moriba would be a permanent signing whereas it’s hoped that Emerson can join on loan for the season with a view to a permanent deal in 2022.

Emerson, 22, finally became a full-time Barcelona player in June having been with Real Betis due to a complicated co-ownership type of deal.
With four caps for Brazil, Emerson has already made huge strides early into his career, but Barcelona do already have two other right backs in Sergino Dest and Sergi Roberto.
That could allow Tottenham to sneak in and take Emerson, who has been compared favourably to Dani Alves.
