Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina, Calcio Mercato say.
Tottenham brought in Joe Rodon from Swansea to strengthen their defensive options in the summer transfer window, but reports in the Italian media suggest that he still wants another centre-back.
As a result Tottenham could move for Milenkovic, and if they do make a bid, it seems that Fiorentina could be tempting into accepting it.
Milenkovic still hasn’t signed a new contract, which his current deal expiring in 2022, which throws his future into real doubt.
Indeed Fiorentina director Daniele Prade told SempreInter last month: “We will try to renew Milenkovic’s contract and, if he doesn’t accept, we will sell next year.”
Milenkovic, who is valued at £35 million (TalkSPORT), is still only 23 and appears to have a hugely promising future, as he is one of the most reliable defenders in Serie A.

But whether Spurs will be open to spending more money on improving their team in January remains to be seen.
Daniel Levy invested heavily in the summer, and Jose Mourinho has stressed that he is very pleased with the options that he now has.
That being said, Tottenham have not looked entirely convincing at the back this season, and there may be a growing belief that they need to bring in another centre-back to solve their defensive issues.
