According to Calciomercato, AC Milan have started talks to sign Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

Kalajdzic is currently at Euro 2020 with Austria, where he will be looking to continue the fine form he showed at Stuttgart.

A move away could materialise this summer, but it looks like Tottenham may miss out on luring him to North London.

How did Kalajdzic perform last season?

The 23-year-old was outstanding for Stuttgart, racking up 16 goals and six assists in 33 Bundesliga games.

Standing at a huge 6ft 7in tall, Kalajdzic is a giant aerial threat but has also shown a fine touch and a decent turn of pace for his size.

It’s claimed that Milan officials have held a meeting with Kalajdzic’s agent in an attempt to tee up a summer deal.

The Italian side had looked into signing Olivier Giroud, but Kalajdzic now appears to be the favourite to join as competition for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

What about Tottenham’s interest in Kalajdzic?

Tottenham started talks for Kalajdzic in April according to Fussball Transfers, in the hope of getting him signed up in the summer.

That could still happen, but with Fabio Paratici now brought in to oversee transfers, it’s unclear whether Spurs are still keen on the giant forward who has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic – his potential teammate.

Tottenham need to find competition for Harry Kane, and Kalajdzic makes sense as a game-changing target man figure – but Paratici will have to move quickly if he wants to beat Milan to the Austrian ace.
