It has been claimed that both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are keen on the signature of Roger Ibanez.
The 24-year-old has been one of the best centre-backs in the Serie A, with Roma having conceded the fourth lowest number of goals in the division (33).
With Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United looking to bolster their squads ahead of next season, they have seemingly set their sights on the arrival of Roger Ibanez.

Looking at Newcastle, as brilliant as Fabian Schar and Sven Botman have been this season, the pair need competition, especially if they qualify for the Champions League, which looks increasingly likely.
As for Spurs, even Cristian Romero has looked far from his best this campaign, while Eric Dier, Ben Davies and even loanee Clement Lenglet are upgradeable options in defence.
Interestingly, Giallorossi.net has claimed that both Tottenham and Newcastle scouted Roger Ibanez on Saturday during Roma’s 2-0 defeat against Inter Milan.
In addition, it has been mentioned that both clubs are ‘making concrete moves’ to sign the 24-year-old, with Roma willing to sell him for a £26 million fee.
However, the threat for the Premier League duo is Atletico Madrid, who are also interested in securing Ibanez’s services.
HITC View: Newcastle are the likeliest to sign him
While Atleti remain a dark horse in the race, the burgeoning project at hand at Newcastle could tempt Roger Ibanez into joining them instead of Tottenham.
Unless Spurs bring in a big-name manager like Julian Nagelsmann or Luis Enrique, one simply cannot fathom why the player would turn down a move to St. James’ Park as an alternative.
In such a short space of time, Eddie Howe and Co. look set to play in the Champions League and to add to that, they are yet to well and truly flex their financial muscle in the transfer market.
Unless Ibanez fancies a move to the Spanish capital, logically speaking, a move to Newcastle looks like it may be in his destiny.
