According to The Sun, Tottenham and Newcastle are interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell.

What’s the story?

Well, Tottenham and Newcastle aren’t the only ones keen on the left-back, as Manchester City and Chelsea are also tracking his progress.

Mitchell has rapidly developed into one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season under Patrick Vieira.

The £25,000-a-week man has played all but eight minutes in the Premier League for Crystal Palace this term, and was recently named in the England squad by Gareth Southgate.

Now, Premier League clubs are sniffing around Selhurst Park as they keep tabs on Mitchell.

The Sun believe Crystal Palace’s No.3 is loving life under Vieira in SE25, so it may be difficult to lure him away.

So far this season, Mitchell has made 33 appearances in all competitions, providing two assists.

Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester City will find it hard

In our view, the Premier League trio will find it difficult to prise Mitchell away from Crystal Palace.

As aforesaid, the youngster is very happy at Selhurst Park, and the south Londoners are known to drive a hard bargain.

They held firm when Manchester United wanted to buy Aaron Wan-Bissaka in July 2019, before the Red Devils offered £50m to finally prise him away.

Now, the Eagles aren’t as desperate for cash, and have a project which Mitchell is among the key cogs, along with Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze.

If Tottenham, Newcastle, Manchester City or Chelsea are to sign him, they may have to offer north of £50m to have a chance.
