The RB Leipzig midfielder would be an exceptional signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
According to the Telegraph, Spurs are keeping a close eye on RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, with a view to the German youngster being the ideal acquisition to provide genuine competition for Harry Kane this season.
The 21-year-old was in sensational form for the Bundesliga outfit last term, scoring 21 goals and chipping in with five assists in 31 league outings.

The speedy attacker can play pretty much anywhere along the front-line, and that kind of versatility would surely appeal to Mauricio Pochettino, what with the small group of players currently available to him.
The Telegraph claim that Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the former Stuttgart ace, and are considering swooping for him this summer, after failing with a move for him way back in 2015.
Whatever happens this summer, Spurs must ensure that they make at least a couple of established signings to supplement what is already an incredibly strong starting XI, what with such a long and physically punishing campaign ahead for Pochettino’s men, on four different fronts.
And with this in mind, Werner would be an excellent addition to the Tottenham squad. He could be available for around €40 million (£36.3 million) according to Bild, and that would represent fantastic value in today’s currently inflated transfer market.
