Tottenham Hotspur could face a huge bill if they want Gremio attacker Everton Soares.

According to Globo Esporte, Gremio attacker Everton Soares has a huge release clause of €80million (£69million) in his contract amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs may well be in the market for new signings in January after a difficult start to the season, and Mauricio Pochettino could look to bolster his attacking options.
Lucas Moura hasn’t really made an impact this season, and he may find new competition from one of his compatriots, with Spurs keen on Gremio star Everton.
Sky Sports reported last week that Spurs want Everton after scout Steve Hitchen was sent to Brazil on a scouting mission, and he came away from Gremio v Flamengo impressed with Everton.
The problem is that Everton signed a new deal with Gremio earlier this month, and whilst the club didn’t announce the value of the release clause in his deal, the figure is breaking over in Brazil.
It’s claimed that the release clause is a huge €80million (£69million), which Spurs would be very unlikely to pay for a player with no experience in European football, never mind the Premier League.

There would be scope for some negotiating, but it’s clear that Gremio want big money for Everton, which may well rule Tottenham out of the race for his signature in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old has hit 13 goals and six assists for Gremio in 2019, whilst he also finished Copa America as joint-top goalscorer having impressed for Brazil.
Quick, skilful and dangerous in front of goal, Everton could have brought a spark to the Tottenham attack, but the money involved makes him a major gamble.
