According to The Telegraph, Tottenham have launched a loan bid to bring Adama Traore to north London, but there is another way they could end up signing the Spaniard.

Indeed, while a loan with an obligation to buy has been rumoured, Spurs may actually end up signing him permanently this summer, using staggered payments with a small initial fee.

Wolves have been known to sell players in similar deals in the past, with The Telegraph pointing out that Diogo Jota left Molineux in a similar way, joining Liverpool for an initial £4m that will rise to £45m.

Jota proved to be one of the best buys of the season last summer, with ex-Spurs boss labelling him ‘such a good signing’ in 2020.

Traore could have a similar effect at Spurs. He’s a player Nuno Espirito Santo really admires, and with his unique combination of strength and pace, he’s a problem for any defence.

Of course, whether or not Wolves are willing to sell a player in a deal like this again remains to be seen, but given that Jota was allowed to leave in this way last summer, you have to imagine that there’s every chance the winger could be on his way to north London.
