Tottenham Hotspur now have two clear favourites to get the job in the form of Ralph Rangnick and Erik Ten Hag, the Athletic report.

The same publication claimed earlier in the week that Tottenham apparently had a shortlist of four potential managers, which included Roberto Martinez and Graham Potter.

However, it seems that Ten Hag and Rangnick have now stepped out from the pack.

Tottenham seem to be zeroing in on their next boss, with the season drawing to a close yesterday.

Ten Hag’s name still being on Tottenham’s wishlist is certainly interesting, as it had appeared that their hopes of landing him were all over.

Tottenham were linked with the Dutch boss early on, after Jose Mourinho’s departure, but he penned a new contract with Ajax.

That doesn’t seem to have put Tottenham off though, with the 51-year-old right at the top of their wishlist.

Ten Hag has a 73% win rate at Ajax, which highlights just how well he has performed with the Dutch giants.

Rangnick, meanwhile, has not managed since 2019, but he is credited with being one of the first managers to really promote a high pressing system, which is so common in modern day football.

If he was to arrive Tottenham’s players certainly would be worked hard, but there must be some concerns that he has only managed for one season in the last five years.
