According to Calciomercato, Tottenham have offered Antonio Conte a pay rise, but he is waiting for offers from Real Madrid and PSG.

Antonio Conte delays Tottenham decision as he eyes Real Madrid & PSG

Well, it looks as if the 2022/23 campaign will be Carlo Ancelotti’s final season at the Santiago Bernabeu, whereas there are also doubts over the future of Christophe Galtier at PSG amid the Kylian Mbappe drama.

Therefore, Conte senses that there could soon be a managerial vacancy in Madrid or Paris, hence why he is yet to give Daniel Levy a response to Tottenham’s latest offer.

According to the Telegraph, the Italian wanted assurances over spending in the transfer market before penning a new deal in N17.

Levy seems to have acknowledged that, as Calciomercato believe Conte has been promised a €200m (£174m) transfer budget for 2023, as well as a €5m (£4m) rise in his annual salary from €15m (£13m) to €20m (£17m) a year.

As things stand, the 53-year-old will be out of contract in July.

Tottenham are hoping to reach an agreement with Conte during the World Cup, although the Italian news outlet believe he is in no hurry to sign fresh terms as a result of the circumstances at Real Madrid and PSG.

Tottenham cannot compete with Real Madrid & PSG

In our view, a £174m transfer budget and a £4m pay rise is a great offer from Levy – if that doesn’t prevent Conte from glancing admirably at Real Madrid and PSG, then maybe Spurs simply cannot compete with the pair.

In Madrid or Paris, the Italian would be given considerably more money to spend on signings, while they would also be able to offer him better personal terms with their almost limitless finances.

Of course, things are going well for Conte at Tottenham with the north Londoners sat third in the Premier League, but his chances of winning silverware also improve significantly at either Real Madrid or PSG.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Levy will push hard to keep the Italian before the turn of the year.
