According to AS, Real Betis could now look towards Tottenham’s Serge Aurier to fill their right-back vacancy.

The Spanish outfit had been strongly linked with a move for Hector Bellerin, but AS claim they now see the Arsenal man as too expensive of an option after William Carvalho refused to leave the club.

It’s no secret that Spurs want to move Aurier on. In fact, they even offered him as a makeweight in the Emerson Royal deal, which is apparently going to go through today.

Of course, the main headlines are always about incoming signings on deadline day, but for some clubs outgoings are just as important.

Spurs may end up shifting Aurier and forcing Arsenal to find another new potential buyer for Bellerin, and with the clock ticking, it will be tough for the Gunners to find a club for the wantaway Spaniard.

It’s understandable that Arsenal want to get a decent price for Bellerin, but at this point, you need to get rid of any players who aren’t in your plans.

The next few hours will be absolutely crucial for both Bellerin and Aurier’s futures, but if reports are to be believed, it’s the Ivorian who could be headed to Betis rather than the Arsenal man.
