Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Nice right back Youcef Atal.
According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur have made a first move to sign Nice right back Youcef Atal by making an enquiry about his signature.
Spurs have endured a patchy run of form of late, and defeat to Ajax on Tuesday night means a spot in the Champions League final has just become less likely.
Still, Tottenham should return to the Champions League again next season, and having gone more than a year without any new signings, surely Mauricio Pochettino will be given reinforcements this summer.
The Telegraph now report that Spurs have made a first move to make a summer signing, having made enquiries about a deal for Nice right back Youcef Atal.
Atal, 22, joined Nice from Paradou in his native Algeria last summer, having impressed out on loan with Belgian side Kortrijk, and he’s been a revelation in France.
An Algerian international with six caps to his name, Atal has impressed with his attacking play this season, and has racked up six goals from right back.
Quick and skilful, Atal has emerged out of nowhere this season, and has been one of the star performers for Nice this season under Tottenham’s former rival Patrick Vieira.
The asking price is huge, and other clubs are believed to have enquiries too, but Spurs appear to have started their pursuit of the young right back in the hope of an early summer deal.
