According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are continuing in their ‘crazy’ attempts to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus.
The Italian news outlet describe Tottenham’s attempts as ‘crazy’ within their article, because the forward already rejected them in 2019 and is still not keen.
Calciomercato say that Dybala is weighing up Tottenham’s offer with little enthusiasm, although Juventus are hoping he leaves.
The article also mentions the 27-year-old’s image rights issues, which partly prevented him joining Spurs in 2019.
Interestingly, Calciomercato claim that is no longer an issue.
If José Mourinho is to pull this off, he will seemingly have to fend off his predecessor Mauricio Pochettino.
It was Calciomercato – again – who claimed that Paris Saint-Germain want Dybala, and are willing to do a swap deal involving Mauro Icardi in June.
Icardi is a brilliant striker, so Mourinho and Daniel Levy will surely have to come up with something special to make Juventus ignore that offer and consider a proposal from north London.
Dybala is an excellent forward, but in our view, this isn’t worth Tottenham’s time.
Carlos Vinicius has proven himself to be an effective deputy to Harry Kane, as the squad’s issues lie elsewhere.
Mourinho needs to find a right-back who can be trusted to start every week, having flittered between Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier this season.
A marquee arrival at centre-back also wouldn’t go amiss, as the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have struggled at times this season.
