Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are keen on the Brazilian.

Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Philippe Coutinho has his heart set on a move to Liverpool, according to Sport in Spain.

According to The Times, Spurs are trying to sign the Brazil playmaker for an eye-watering £21 million loan fee.

Coutinho, who left Liverpool to join Barcelona 18 months ago, has been occasionally linked with a return to Anfield this summer.

But Sport claim that although the Lilywhites are the ‘main candidate’ to sign him, the 27-year-old would like a return to the Reds over Tottenham.

However, the report adds that Coutinho knows it would be ‘complicated’ to re-sign for Jurgen Klopp’s side by virtue of the attacking options that the German already has at his disposal.

It’s been a very quiet summer for Liverpool, who have signed two teenage talents and Adrian on a Bosman, but this might represent some excitement for the supporters.

Many of the Anfield faithful wouldn’t want him back, but a lot more would, such is his quality but, with the transfer window closing tomorrow, time will tell where he winds up.
