Tottenham Hotspur are winning the race to sign the 20-year-old, says a report.

Team Talk has reported that ‘half of the Premier League’ want to sign Sander Berge – but that Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race for his signature.

Bleacher Report claimed earlier this week that Tottenham scouts had encouraged the club’s hierarchy to move quickly to sign the 20-year-old Genk midfielder.

Dagsbladet reported back in August that Spurs held a ‘concrete interest’ in the Norway international, who has 12 caps for his country.

No deal was struck in the summer but, according to Team Talk, the North Londoners are favourites to sign him in January, ahead of their Premier League rivals.

The report adds that up to half of England’s top flight are also tracking the youngster, so Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy would want to act quick.

Berge, valued at £15 million [Bleacher Report], might well fancy a move to Tottenham, given Pochettino’s reputation for developing players.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli have both emerged as some of Europe’s finest talents under the Argentine’s guidance and it would surprise few if that appealed to Berge.
