Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Manchester City teenager.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to closely monitor the situation regarding Manchester City youngster Jadon Sancho, after the 17-year-old allegedly missed training due to his frustration at being overlooked for the club’s pre-season tour.

The teenager is one of the best talents to come out of City’s academy and he is tipped for big things. The problem for the Blues is that Sancho was reportedly upset not to be included in the first-team touring party earlier this summer and has subsequently made his feelings known.

Jadon Sancho of England celebrates after the UEFA Under-17 EURO Qualifier between U17 Austria and U17 England on October 30, 2016 at Anghel Iordanescu stadium in Voluntari, Romania.

If the report from the Daily Mail is true, Tottenham may feel they have a chance of signing the teenager and adding him to their already impressive roster of young talent.

Sancho is yet to sign a professional contract at the Etihad Stadium and the latest report suggests he could turn down the opportunity to do so and instead move elsewhere.

Borussia Dortmund are also said to be monitoring things and they have previous when it comes to sealing deals for football’s best young prospects.

That said, if the 17-year-old does leave City and wants to continue his development in England, there are few clubs better than Tottenham at not only nurturing young talent but also giving them a chance earlier than they would get elsewhere.

This could all be paper-talk in a bid to get the best possible deal for Sancho at his current club. But if he does move on, Tottenham would be wise to be at the front of the queue having already brought him up during the Kyle Walker negotiations.
