According to Calciomercato, Fabio Paratici is keen to bring Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

It’s claimed that whilst McKennie enjoyed a decent first season with Juventus but isn’t considered ‘non-transferrable’ at this point in time.

With Juventus targeting Manuel Locatelli, the Turin giants could axe another midfielder – and McKennie is thought to be one player potentially on the chopping block.

Tottenham’s interest in McKennie

What’s fascinating about McKennie is that Antonio Conte wanted him at Tottenham according to Calciomercato, but that move was scrapped when Conte didn’t become Spurs boss.

That’s not the end of the story with Tottenham and McKennie though, as it’s now stated that Paratici and Spurs are ‘on the front line’ if he is available.

Paratici brought McKennie to Juventus last year, so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that the American international is on his radar again.

What would McKennie bring to Tottenham?

The 22-year-old midfielder showed promise at Schalke before heading to Juve, making a strong first impression under Andrea Pirlo.

McKennie played 34 Serie A games on loan at Juve, scoring five goals for the club before turning his move permanent, with the Texas-born ace offering a real box-to-box presence.

Branded ‘relentless’ by his former coach Tab Ramos, McKennie can bring energy to Tottenham’s midfield whilst also possessing real potential for the future given his age.
