Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign the attacking midfielder after his outstanding season.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham have joined the race to sign Julian Brandt, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to get their summer spending underway swiftly after the Champions League final.
Spurs fans will be hoping that the club end their wait for a new signing for the first-team squad in the coming months. Pochettino is on the brink of taking Tottenham to Europe’s summit, but there can surely be no doubt that he has had to work wonders to lead the team there.
The Mail reports that Pochettino hopes to start completing summer deals as soon as their Madrid showdown with Liverpool has taken place, and Brandt is one player on his radar.
The report notes that the 23-year-old is available for £21.5 million due to a release clause in his contract at Bayer Leverkusen, and may be signed as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen, with the Dane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a little doubt.

Brandt has enjoyed an outstanding season in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and providing 14 assists in the top flight. He also made seven appearances in the Europa League, but it would be no surprise if he was plying his trade for a Champions League club next term.
Replacing Eriksen is going to be a huge ask if he does leave. But given the form that Brandt has shown this season, coupled with the fee that he is available for – which looks like a potential steal in today’s game – there appears to be every chance that Brandt could be as inspired a signing for Spurs as the last player to make the switch to North London from Leverkusen.
