According to Calciomercato, Inter Milan will put Marcelo Brozovic up for sale in January – and Tottenham Hotspur are though to be interested.

It’s claimed that Brozovic was set to leave before Antonio Conte’s arrival as boss, but then became key – and his situation is now ‘deteriorating’ again.

Inter were allegedly willing to sell over the summer, but the right offer didn’t arrive. They now intend to put him on the transfer market again in January, having brought in Arturo Vidal over the summer.

Monaco and Tottenham allegedly remain keen on Brozovic, and are considered to be the Croatian’s most likely destination come 2021, even if Spurs have struggled to get Inter to sell teammate Milan Skriniar.

Brozovic is a hard-working holding midfielder with great defensive qualities, but also a superb passing range, meaning he can protect his back four and trigger attacks.

At almost 28, Brozovic has great experience under his belt and is a proven performer, so it’s easy to see why Tottenham may be interested in luring him to the Premier League, as he seems to be a great fit for Jose Mourinho.

However, Spurs just brought in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg over the summer, and he has been simply outstanding in recent weeks, meaning it’s hard to see Spurs splashing out on another holding midfielder.

With Harry Winks also at Tottenham’s disposal and filling an ever-valuable homegrown player spot, it’s just difficult to imagine a deal for Brozovic happening – even if his situation is worth keeping track of alongside Skriniar.
