Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a surprise move for the 27-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have got used to the regular names linked with a summer switch to North London, but German newspaper Bild has thrown a new player into the mix in the form of Bayer Leverkusen wide man Karim Bellarabi.
At 27 he would not represent your average Daniel Levy signing, certainly not when you factor in his £26million price-tag, but Tottenham need additional quality in wide areas and when fit and firing Bellarabi certainly offers that.
The 11-capped German international has scored 33 goals and provided 37 assists in 137 matches for Leverkusen having previously shone at Eintracht Braunschweig.

Tottenham’s current wide options are hit-and-miss to say the least, with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou far from the finished product and questions remaining regarding the future of Erik Lamela.
Bellarabi has fought back from injury this season but it seems he could be surplus to requirements at his current club, provided a big enough offer comes in.
The player’s contract situation means he will not come cheap, with the 27-year-old tied to Leverkusen until the summer of 2021, yet considering some of the inflated prices being touted for English talent Tottenham would be wise to at least consider Bellarabi.
There are better, younger options out there, however much depends on just how deep Levy is prepared to dig to significantly strengthen the current Spurs squad prior to the new campaign.
