Report: Tottenham interested in Crystal Palace prospect Francis Baptiste

Tottenham are interested in Crystal Palace youngster Francis Baptiste, according to LondonNewsOnline.

The 16-year old has been with the Eagles since he was 12 and made his debut for the club’s Under-18 side in January this year.

His goalscoring exploits in several youth tournaments since have reportedly caught the eye of scouts, with Spurs seemingly at the front of the queue.

The report from LondonNewsOnline claims that Baptiste has been offered a scholarship deal by Palace but it is not yet clear whether he has accepted the proposal.

Spurs have become synonymous with youth promotion under Mauricio Pochettino’s reign, with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier all establishing themselves as first-team stars despite their tender age.

Francis Baptiste could well be the next young arrival as Spurs look to ensure they have a healthy crop of up and coming youngsters to choose from in the years ahead.
