According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in signing Morgan Sanson from Marseille, along with other Premier League outfits.
The Daily Mail add that Aston Villa, Arsenal and West Ham are also keen on the Frenchman – the Villans are said to already be in talks over a deal.
Sky Sports recently revealed that Marseille were hoping to make £22.5 million from the midfielder’s exit.
Sanson has become a key cog at Marseille under ex-Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas, helping them finish second in Ligue 1 last season.
So far this term, the 26-year-old’s fine form has continued with two goals and three assists in nine Ligue 1 starts.
Villas-Boas has, interestingly, refused to rule out an exit for Marseille’s No.8.
The Daily Mail quote the Portuguese coach as saying: ‘He is a boy who interests English teams because of his characteristics, and it is possible that something could happen.’

So, what type of player is Marseille’s midfield maestro?
Well, when covering Aston Villa’s interest in him, Birmingham Live mentioned that he plays ‘like Douglas Luiz’.
They mention that he is a distributor, as well as someone who gets stuck in to challenges.
Birmingham Live add that, with Sanson, it’s usually a case of him getting his foot in, picking his head up and spraying a ball to a teammate.

In our view, Tottenham don’t really need another midfielder.
Jose Mourinho is already struggling to find regular game-time for Harry Winks, while even Giovani Lo Celso has struggled for action when fit.
Tottenham’s excellent midfield of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko is working wonders right now.
As a result, there’s no need for Sanson at Spurs, in our view.
